Ever wonder why women in Europe often have better looking skin even as they age? Here is a little secret: Their diet is filled with healthy fats found in food and olive oil. Aside as being an amazing base for homemade scrubs, they are also used as:
- Skin Moisturizers
- Nail and Cuticle moisturizer
- Makeup remover
- Deep hair conditioner
While I've seen fancy creams and scrubs with olive oil at expensive boutiques, I've also seen soaps and lotions at Target with this simple ingredient. Here are a few products found on Health.com that contain olive oil in case you're out shopping:
L’Occitane En Provence Olive Tree Cleansing Milk $22
Serious Skin Care Olive Oil Moisture Replenishing Eye Balm $20
Crème d’Olives Anti-Aging Cream $135 (Eeks!)
Thymes Olive Leaf Triple-Milled Bar Soap $13
DHC Olive-Corn Body Scrub and Polish $17
None of these sounds appealing? Make your own body scrub and reap the benefits!
Brown Sugar and Olive Oil Body Scrub
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
1/2-1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
1/2-1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Mix together to make a paste and store in a container. A Tupperware container worked fine for me!
This stuff looks so yummy! Following you now, love your posts! Check out my blog:)

ReplyDeleteDHC has another olive oil cleanser that I use and it is fantastic! At first it seemed weird to me to use oil on my face but that stuff really helps take all the make up off. Great list I might have to check out some of the ones you found!
