Screen Actors Guild 2010

The 16th Screen Actors Guild Awards are being held tomorrow at the gorgeous Shrine Auditorium, just one week after the Golden Globes. Many of the nominees are similar, and the question of the night will be if those same actors who walked away with the Golden Globe will also take home the SAG award.

A relatively new show, the SAG awards started in 1995 and awards performers within a cast or as an individual in a TV show or motion picture. This year, the 46th Life Achievement Recipient is none other than Golden Girl favorite, Betty White.

Golden Globes 2010

Last night, stars came out in glamour, fashion don'ts...and rain. Aside from umbrellas, there were a few prevalent colors on the red carpet. Shades of purple seemed to be the color of the night, as well as black and various soft colors such as peach, champagne and pinks.

There were a few of my faves:

Luis Antonio

Christian Siriano

Victoria Beckham

Dolce & Gabbana

Hair and Makeup:

And then there were the not so faves:

Carolina Herrera

Marchesa
Roberto Cavalli
Zac Posen

Ricky Gervais was a funny break from the usual presenters, and even managed to add a few zingers in there...like this one:

Oh...and can someone explain why THIS happens?

Golden Globe Countdown

This is my favorite time of year! Movies and TV shows are being honored for their acting, writing and directing among other things, and I just love waiting for all of the red carpet arrivals. Those "what where you thinking" moments are always fun, but the best part is seeing all of the trends and styles our favorite actors/actresses are trying out.

 Golden Globes 2009

In addition, I have been watching new shows this year that are nominated, so I am excited to see who takes home the honors. My personal faves are of course Mad Men, House and Dexter all of which are nominated in the same categories. There are quite a few movies I need to see before I can make a judgment; however, to be honest, not many seem to interest me.

This year's Miss Golden Globe is the daughter of actress Alfre Woodard, Mavis Spencer. Awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Miss or Mr. Golden Globe is the child of a celebrity, and last year we remember Rumer Willis had the honors.

Happy New Year!

Wow. 2009 is at a close and it was quite an eventful year. January 2009 kicked off with a job loss, followed in February by the hubby's job loss, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day and moved to Denver five weeks later. What a way to start the year! The hardships we dealt with affirmed my thought that God will provide and He has given us SO much this year. While it was not the best year, we have everything we could possibly want and opportunities are being presented after so patiently waiting for good things to happen. I have an amazing job, the hubby is making more money than he ever has, and we have had health, laughter and love for each other every step of the way.

As usual, I have a few things I want to accomplish in 2010:

1. Maintain my 4.0 in school and finish with honors
2. Start my salt and sugar scrubs and put them on Etsy
3. Get rid of those remaining credit cards once and for ALL!!
4. Move to a different part of Denver
5. Go to the gym more often! This is a must!!!
6. Stop eating out so often
7. Go to a Laker AND Dodger game this spring/summer
8. Take an art class
9. Learn Photography
10. Start saving for the move to NYC in the next year

2009 was also a year of many new fashion looks, as well as some um...interesting choices.

Lady Gaga showed us that fashion is subjective

'Mad Men' inspired a new trend

Sci-Fi was more than a movie/book genre

The higher, the better
